Bob Shepherd offers a lifetime of experience in solo, small jazz groups and big band formats and is a first-call vocal accompanist in western New England, specializing in the Great American Songbook. He’s appeared onstage playing for Marvin Hamlisch, Dick Haymes, Jerry Vale, Ray Eberle (vocalist with the Glenn Miller band, Al Hibbler, Silvia Syms, Bob Brookmeyer, Jimmy Guiffre, John Davidson, Eddie Shaughnessy (drummer with the Tonight Show band), Charles Neville and many others.
Singers appreciate his easygoing, supportive manner as well as his ability to tailor arrangements in any key and in any style at a moment’s notice. He has been pianist with the Adult Cabaret program at Berkshire Music School since 2004.
Bob owns and operates a recording studio where he is a mastering engineer of audiobooks for Blackstone Books and Amazon.com. He works closely with singers to create recordings backed by instrumental settings. He also restores vintage recordings in many formats.
