During much of each year, I’m privileged to accompany the magic created by mentor Sherri James Buxton at our popular Cabaret Workshops. They’ve been held at the Berkshire Music School in Pittsfield, Massachusetts ever since 2001 and we’re now in our 15th year! Topics include interpretation of lyrics, phrasing, style, microphone technique and stage presence. The goal: making a song your own so that every member of your audience experiences a private, personal concert as they come to know you.

Along with our long-running Adult Cabaret workshop, we’ve finished running our fourth session of “Finding Your Voice”, a similar course for youngsters. Our spring session gang again performed beautifully on Family Day at Tanglewood on June 29th.

For the second year, Sherri and I participated in “Rock On”, a week-long workshop at Berkshire Community College.

We’re looking forward to our first meeting in late February of 2017 and you’re invited. Click the Gigs Calendar tab above this article to see more.

Visit the school’s website or call Director Tracy Wilson at (413) 442-1411 to enroll or get more information about our next course offering. Participants in our small classes (averaging only six students) learn not only through their own performances, but by observing their colleagues as they’re gently coached in the intimate art of Cabaret singing. You can read testimonials from our students here. The focus is on interpretation; vocal technique is not taught in these classes, although private lessons are available with Sherri and rehearsals with me in my Dalton home.

If you want to improve your vocal presentation at any level, these workshops are for you. You would love working with us!
